Manitowoc Youth Baseball/Softball Complex

The Manitowoc Youth Baseball Association (MYBA) was formed with the goal of promoting youth participation in your baseball and softball and to ensure that every child in Manitowoc County would have the opportunity to play. To ensure that this opportunity will be available for many generations to come, we need to invest in the future of youth baseball in Manitowoc. MYBA is committed to the mission of improving the quality of our youth baseball facilities and have begun a campaign to fund the design and implementation of a four-field baseball/softball complex at Citizen Park (900 block of North 18th Street) in Manitowoc. This new complex would be used for: MYBA leagues, high school girls' fast pitch softball team home games and tournaments, T-Ball and pitching machine leagues, locally-hosted tournaments and will also generate additional volume for the nearby Aquatic Center. MYBA has worked closely with the City of Manitowoc in the planning and design of this complex to ensure that the end result will be an addition to the community that will serve many lakeshore area youth sports for years to come.

Manitowoc Youth Sports Complex June 3, 2017 Update:

To date, we have raised just over $1,836,000 from a very generous community!

We are excited to begin play at the new complex this season. Weather delays have caused the completion of the project to be a week or two later than anticipated but make no mistake, we will be playing ball in the new complex very soon! Plan to join us for our GRAND OPENING JUNE 12 AT 5:00 P.M.

The finishing touches are being done on the concession stand, the lights were installed this past week, final concrete has been poured, and we will be installing signage soon.

We will be playing eight league games a night (Monday through Thursday) at this beautiful new complex. As with any project this big, we have encountered many challenges along the way. We have worked together to overcome these challenges, but have one more to overcome...

The good news is that we have raised over 1.8 million dollars for this complex, the challenging part is our need has grown due to changes in plans as well as some minor budget issues. In summary, WE ARE APPROXIMATELY $40,000 SHORT OF OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL and are looking to our community for help one last time.

If you would be interested in contributing to help us finish this project, please use the link on this page to donate, or phone Randy Heinzen at (920) 683-0202 for more information.

Soon we will hear the words “Play Ball”, we can’t wait!

Manitowoc Youth Baseball/Softball has just completed phase 1 of our Dream, Build, Play Ball campaign! Construction is underway on the four-diamond complex and we will be playing baseball and softball at this new complex in 2017!

Now, we begin Phase 2 of the project, our "Light the Fields" campaign. We have already raised $1.5 million of the $1.8 million that is needed to complete the project. The remaining balance of $300,000 needed would allow us to install lighting in time for the 2017 season.

If you have already contributed to this project, THANK YOU! If you have not, please consider helping us finish this project in time to "Light the Fields" for the 2017 season and insure that our youth have a beautiful new complex to play on for decades to come!

Complex Project Update: July 19, 2016:

Manitowoc, Wisconsin, July 19, 2016 – Manitowoc Youth Baseball/Softball Association President, Randy Heinzen, announces that “It is time to put the shovels in the ground and get to the BUILD stage of this project! After three years of planning and fundraising, it is with great excitement that we announce we are officially set for groundbreaking and to make this dream a reality. We have come a long come a long way with this project and have raised approximately $1.4 million of the estimated $1.8 million that is needed to complete the project. With the $1.4 million, we know that we can complete the fields and concession stand and be ready to play on the fields in spring of 2017. We continue our fundraising efforts to raise the additional $400,000 that is needed to complete lights and other amenities for the final phase of the complex.”

The project includes a four baseball/softball diamond complex to be located at Citizen Park, 930 North 18th Street, in Manitowoc.

Heinzen notes that the support of the local community has been amazing. The manner in which our dedicated project committee, along with the business owners and citizens of our area, have come together for this project truly shows the spirit of Manitowoc County. These efforts show a commitment to the future of our children, by providing them with a baseball/softball complex that will serve the lakeshore area for years to come.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for July 27th with the physical construction work beginning in early August.
